According to Wikipedia ” Gaius Julius Caesar was a Roman general and statesman. A member of the First Triumvirate, Caesar led the Roman armies in the Gallic Wars before defeating his political rival Pompey in a civil war, and subsequently became dictator from 49 BC until his assassination in 44 BC. He played a critical role in the events that led to the demise of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire.” Julius Caesar was very important in the Empire.
The Aeneid is considered an epic Latin poem. It was written by Virgil in between 29BC and 19BC. The Aeneid is about a Trojan who escapes the destruction of Troy and founds Rome. In the story Aeneas (a trojan) flees Troy on a ship and heads to Italy. Aeneas and the others on the ship are blown of course to a place called Carthage. There Dido the queen of Carthage falls deeply in love with Aeneas. When Dido wakes up one morning and finds that Aeneas has left she commits suicide. When another wind blows them of course to Sicily Aeneas’s dead father visits him in a dream and tells him to go to Italy. Aeneas resumes his journey and visits the underworld to meet his father and to see the future. When he leaves he sails to Latium where the king thinks that Aeneas will marry his daughter, but the queen wants her daughter to marry a local suiter. This ends up in a war. Aeneas wins the war, continues sailing, then founds Rome.
